pouffe (n.) a tuffet, pouffe or hassock are all terms for for a piece of furniture that is used as footstool or low seat. It is distinguished from a stool by being completely covered in fabric so that no legs are visible.
pouffes ~ or pouf ottomans as they are more commonly called ~ are a very versatile addition to any space. Easily movable, they can become an extra seat, an ottoman or even a side table & can add a little whimsy or ethnic flair into a space.

Every room has 6 main surfaces: the 4 walls, the floor & the ceiling. Most of us pay a lot of attention to our flooring choice & certainly debate about the color that goes on our walls. But, how many of us put the same thought into the ceiling finish?
Okay, here is a confession. In most cases, I am not a fan of what I will call a “busy” ceiling. I love a crisp white ceiling ~ smooth finish, please, no popcorn ~ & crown molding that is decadently thick. But, Stylephile is all about embracing all the design options out there, so here are some patterned ceilings. Question? Do you love? Or hate?

Etsy is arguably my favorite site on the web ~ it is a virtual craft fair with “shops” comprised of indie artists & purveyors of vintage & handmade items. Etsy got its name when one its founders was watching a Fellini movie & heard the Italian word ‘etsi’ which translates into ‘oh, yes’.
I am a huge fan of typography & have curated for you today some Etsy shops who specialize in customized typography prints. All of these are very affordable, make fantastic gifts & can commemorate a special day or moment for a couple or a family.
