This is the time of year to declutter and lighten and brighten up your home ~ removing the extra layers and packing away for the spring and summer months anything that is weighing your space down. I love the color turquoise and, if you are considering some changes to your home, I find it to be a very timeless, happy and flexible focal or accent color. Turquoise is on the cool side of the color wheel. It works with any type of furniture and evokes the feeling of water and feels especially perfect for a Lake Norman home.

Several weeks ago I posted about classic black & white floors, but when it comes to overall color schemes for a space, black & white is always fresh, yet timeless; timeless like a tuxedo or little black dress. Black & white works in traditional, as well as modern or eclectic rooms. It is elegant & sophisticated, yet neither overtly feminine or masculine.
