We are about to feel the weather turning cooler ~ temperatures here on Lake Norman will only reach into the 60s this weekend. Personally, I am looking forward to a slight respite from the the 80s & 90s.

Which made me think today about fall home accessories. I tend to lighten a room up for spring & summer & add some layers in the fall to make it cozier. A layer that works in both living & sleeping space is a throw. Drape them over the corner of a couch or chair or fold them at the foot of your bed.

Ikat is a technique of precisely dyeing fabric & creating a pattern. There is not a clear geographic origin & some form of ikat weaving can be traced back to several continents. A design is conceived & then the warp & the weft threads are carefully measured & then tied & placed in a dye solution. This is all done before weaving which is what differentiates this technique from tie-dyeing.
