The origins of the starburst mirror are a bit unclear, but bulls-eye convex mirrors date back to at least the Venetian Republic. Starbursts reached a pinnacle in the 1940’s Hollywood Regency period &, at the turn of this century when high-end auction houses started to get ecstatic bidders for these jewels, mainstream companies took notice & began to reinterpret them. Starburst mirrors have been used extensively in design in the subsequent years.

Bar carts offer up great functionality with a little bit of styling heaven. Big in the 1900s, the bar cart virtually disappeared, but has been enjoying a bit of a comeback as of late. Beverage carts are not only practical, with most being able to wheel from room-to-room or even outside, but also sends a signal of hospitality to your family & friends. They offer up an opportunity to unleash your inner interior stylist; a place to show off your beautiful decanters & glasses & other dining accessories.

Mirrors serve the obvious purpose in our homes ~ various times throughout the day, we need them to check out our reflection. But an over-sized framed mirror is also quite a magical design feature & makes a statement in any room. A large mirror is an excellent focal point, visually expands the space & makes it brighter as it bounces the light around. It can also add depth to a space.
