If you answered yes to that question, then you use Pinterest. Pinterest is an invitation only, social media site that organizes all the things that you want to save ~ either from the web or your own computer ~ onto “boards” that you create.

For example, on Sunday I was going back through the archives of a design blog I found & saw an image that I wanted to keep ~

So I pinned it to my board titled “Love something in this room“. This image immediately appeared in the feeds of anyone who is following me or this particular board of mine or who searches for the keywords that I have used to describe that image. If they like my image, they can hover over it & comment on it or “repin” it to one of their boards. You can also share pins on Facebook or Twitter.

Pinterest was created about 2 years ago, but has experienced meteoric growth in the past few months. It is very different from other social networking sites in that it is very visually driven & gives the user a unique way of organizing things that inspires them.

One of the things I really like about Pinterest is that every image is linked back to the site that originated the content. As a professional organizer, I also like that saving that random recipe, or party planning idea, or Etsy shop is done with just a mouse click, accessed by another click & does not add any clutter into your life. You can create as many boards as you want & can edit existing pins & move them into other boards as you & your interests change over time.

I also use Pinterest for researching potential blog post ideas & to find images to use in posts ~ I have found many great design & food blogs via Pinterest links.
