Last Friday, I wrote about how much you can refresh the look of a room by just changing your throw pillows. Designers & stylists are creating very unique spaces by mixing color, pattern & texture in their pillow selections.
This daybed is dressed with solids & one pattern & mixes square, rectangular & round shapes ~ the solid white pillow balances out the pattern while the rest of the colors are similar in tone.

I love this one ~ the rich berry & the faux fur white pillows set the stage for the 2 patterned pillows in the middle. The floors, walls & furniture in this room are all neutral, but the room comes alive from the judicious pops of color & sparkle from the mirrors & lighting.
These patterns work together due to the fact that they share the same color palate & scale.
This one is just plain fun ~ 2 solids & 4 different patterns, but the common thread comes from the gray & yellow & the fact that the patterns are geometric.
A pillow fest. The stripes & ikat are the same rich hues as the solid pillows.
Sweet. And, perfectly balanced. One of the smallest pillows I’ve ever seen.
This is very bold. Again, it works as the colors are the same intensity & the patterns are similar in scale & all geometric.
Here a few resources to get the look.
Find ikat pillows at Ikat & Batik.
Novelty pillows from Utilitarian Franchise.
A little edgy from Kreme.
Pop of color from Kate Spade.
Mongolian lamb pillow from West Elm.
