By the time Stephen Curry fouled out in the final seconds of Friday’s game between Golden State and Milwaukee, his team had been whittled to just four players.
Of the 8 available at the start of the Warriors home game, one went down to a knee injury and then three fouled out, the last being Curry. Stephen Curry scored 9 points for the Warriors in Wednesday’s 115-102 loss to the Miami Heat. Curry also totaled 4 assists and 4 rebounds at the Oracle Arena, but that wasn’t enough to keep the Heat from rolling past the Warriors, led by Dwyane Wade, who scored 35 points despite his sprained wrist.
“I don’t know what the reason behind our sluggish start was,” said Curry in an AP report on the game. “I thought we finished the game against the Cavs (Jan. 11) very well so I thought we had some good momentum but they came out, got on us early and took us out of it.”
Yahoo.com also reported that Curry: ” has started off January as if he wants to be a candidate for the NBA’s Rookie of the Month honors. His 21 points on 8-for-15 shooting Monday brought his five-game January averages to 16.8 points on 57.6-percent shooting.”

Bob McKillop (Tim Cowie photo)
Bob McKillop is in his third decade as basketball coach at Davidson College. The 2009-10 season may be one of the more challenging in recent memory, as the Wildcats begin life after Stephen Curry, the former national scoring leader who left after his junior year to join the NBA.
