Former Davidson star Stephen Curry is on the sidelines right now for the NBA’s Golden State Warriors. This season, he has re-sprained his right ankle, which required surgery last spring. There may be a bit of good news, though: Examinations this week showed that Curry’s injury is not serious – “no structural damage” was found in the latest exams.
The question is, will he be ready when the Warriors play the Bobcats on Saturday?

DURHAM – Davidson stayed even with No. 6 ranked Duke and held a 1-point lead at half time, but the Blue Devils poured it on in the second half to walk away with a 82-69 point victory Friday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The NBA is in jeopardy. This week, the league canceled the first two
weeks of its season. Players would normally be in training camp now but a labor dispute has kept them off the court. For Stephen Curry it’s meant the chance to return for some unfinished business at Davidson College.
Curry’s mother drilled him the importance of education. Back in seventh grade at Charlotte Christian, Stephen brought home a 2.8 GPA. His mom, a head master at a Montessori school in Huntersville, wasn’t impressed.

The National Basketball Association locked out its players last week after the players and owners failed to negotiate a new contract. The NBA seems likely to miss games this fall, and that has players like former Davidson Wildcat Stephen Curry devising alternate plans.

Fathers can pass down many attributes to their sons, and in the case of Stephen Curry, those traits show up both on and off the basketball court. On Monday, father and son were at River Run Country Club in Davidson hosting their 2nd annual Curry Celebrity Classic fundraiser, when Dell Curry looked over at his son.

Professional basketball player Stephen Curry will be the guest speaker at the first local Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) rally June 20.

Community service has become an important component of the student experience at Davidson College, and for some students ties to local organizations don’t end when they leave. That’s certainly the case with Stephen Curry, the former Wildcat basketball star who now plays in the NBA.
Mr. Curry volunteered at Ada Jenkins Center on Davidson’s West Side while a student. He and his father, former NBA star Dell Curry, are sponsoring their 2nd annual Curry Celebrity Classic golf tournament at River Run Country Club on Monday, June 20, to benefit Ada Jenkins. Read the full story
