Two standouts on W.A. Hough High School’s football team will be helping to revive the sport at Stetson University in Florida next fall. Seniors Dre’an Long (running back) and Griff Vari (offensive line) on Wednesday signed letters of intent to play at Stetson next season. Read the full story

Woodlawn School junior David Hager collected a first-place finish in the 1,600 meters at the annual Charlotte Country Day Buccaneer Classic Relays this past weekend, setting a new meet and school record. A record-setting weekend by junior attacker Ann Fucigna helped the Davidson women’s lacrosse player pick up her second Choice Hotels Big South Offensive Player of the Week award.
Fucigna led Davidson to a pair of victories last week, an 18-3 win over Campbell last Friday, and a 19-3 win over Presbyterian Sunday. She set a school record with her 135th career goal in the Campbell game. Then against Presbyterian, she tied the record for goals in one game, with eight. Read the full story

Davidson’s Jake Cohen has been selected to participate in the 2013 Reese’s College All-Star Game, as announced by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Tuesday afternoon. The annual event features the top seniors in college basketball and will take place Friday, April 5 at 5 p.m. on the Final Four court inside the Georgia Dome.
The teams are composed of 11 senior student-athletes from NCAA Division I programs across America. Read the full story
