The weather was just right and the stars were out Monday morning as Golden State Warrior Stephen Curry and his retired NBA star dad Dell Curry hosted their annual Curry Celebrity Classic golf tournament at River Run Country Club in Davidson. The event raised at least $77,000 for the Ada Jenkins Center, a regional social service center in Davidson. Read the full story

Jackson Mauze ran 19:04 to win the Spartan 5K Road Race on Town Day Saturday in downtown Davidson. Alana-Lee Siddon was the top woman, clocking 22:25. Meanwhile, Davidson College junior Andrew Lantz won the 800 meters Friday at the Bob Pollack Invitational at Clemson University. A trio of area runners has organized a 2.62-hour run in Charlotte Sunday to honor victims of the Boston Marathon attacks and to support a local family directly affected.
