Chris Czerapowicz scored a career-high 23 points and to lead Davidson to a 75-70 victory over Penn Thursday night at Belk Arena.
Nik Cochran added 17 points for the Wildcats, including 11 of 11 free throws in the second half to help lead a comeback. JP Kuhlman had 11 points, including key foul shots late in the game.
Sophomore Czerapowicz matched his career high of 16 points in the first half, when he had 3 of his 4 three-pointers. His dad and two brothers were visiting from Sweden to watch the game, Coach Bob McKillop said afterward. Read the full story

Davidson College’s men’s basketball team hits the court again after a week off, hosting Penn Thursday night at 7 p.m. at Belk Arena.
Davidson is 7-4 on the season, and returns after a 73-65 loss at UMass Dec. 22.

Davidson College’s Nik Cochran on Tuesday was named the Southern Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week, thanks to his 21 point performance in Davidson’s 80-74 win over No. 11/12 ranked Kansas Monday. Davidson upset 11th-ranked Kansas, 80-74, on Monday night in a men’s basketball game at Sprint Center in Kansas City. Davidson beat the Jayhawks with a barrage of 11 three-pointers, and good free-throw shooting in the home stretch.
Nik Cochran led the Cats with 21 points, including 4 out of 5 three pointers and 7 of 8 foul shots. JP Kuhlman added 15 points and De’Mon Brooks had 13 before fouling out in the second half.

Davidson beats Georgia Southern, 72-48, at Belk Arena
Junior Sophia Aleksandravicius became the 15th player in Davidson history to top the career 1,000-point mark, putting in 12 points to help the Wildcats beat Georgia Southern 72-48 Monday night at Belk Arena.
Davidson (6-4 overall, 3-0 in the Southern Conference) rolled to its fourth straight win overall and remained perfect at home at 5-0. The Wildcats pushed their overall home win streak to six straight. Read the full story
