James Haycraft finished more than a minute ahead of his closest rival to win the 2012 Tri Latta Triathlon at Latta Plantation Park in Huntersville Saturday. Jennifer Leiser of Charlotte edged 15-year-old Malia Ellington of Cornelius in the women’s race. Meanwhile, Summit Coffee in downtown Davidson on Friday night hosts the Summit Solstice Race + Festival, a 4-mile race followed by a post-race party featuring the local band Cast Iron Filter.
