RALEIGH - Hough’s defense of its state 4A women’s soccer title ended in disappointment Saturday afternoon when the Huskies fell 2-0 to Green Hope, last year’s runners up. The Huskies fought well in the championship game at NC State University’s Dail Soccer Field, but the Falcons stayed undefeated by scoring twice past Hough’s solid back line. Read the full story

The Hough High School girls soccer team travels to Raleigh Saturday, May 25, to defend their 2012 state title. Saturday’s match is a rematch of last year’s final, when the Huskies scored a 2-1 victory over Green Hope to win the title. Kickoff is at 5pm at NC State University. Read the full story

Davidson Day School’s girls soccer beat Caldwell Academy 4-2 in the championship game of the NC Independent Schools Athletic Association Division 2A playoffs on Saturday in Asheville. It was the team’s third straight championship. Read the full story

CHARLOTTE - Hough High’s Huskies are through to the 4A state championship game, following a tight 1-0 overtime win at Myers Park Tuesday. A stunning strike from forward Emmily Cowie three minutes into the first overtime broke the deadlock, as the ball cannoned in off the crossbar for the game’s only goal.
The Huskies (21-2) now have a chance to defend their state title of last year. They’ll face Green Hope (27-0), who defeated New Bern 3-1 in the other semifinal Tuesday night. That sets up a rematch of last year’s Division 4A final, which saw Hough victorious by 2–1. Read the full story

Hough’s defending state champion girls’ soccer team travels to Myers Park in Charlotte Tuesday at 5pm for a state 4A playoff semifinal.
