DC Force, the Davidson-Cornelius all-star team of 13- and 14-year-olds, shut out a 13U team from Rockingham, 14-0, on Thursday in the third day of the 2012 East Zone South Region PONY baseball tournament at McEver Fields.

The win kept the DC Force alive in the competition for the regional title and a spot in the PONY East Zone tournament in High Point beginning Aug. 1.

In other action Thursday, another Rockingham team beat Henry County (Va.), 10-3.

The Davidson-Cornelius team was scheduled to face Rockingham Friday at 3 p.m. Western Branch was to go up against CBC (Richmond, Va.) in a 5:30 p.m. game.

The winner of the 3 p.m. game plays the loser of the 5:30 game at 8 p.m. And the tournament wraps up Saturday.
