The Little League 9-year-old District 3 Tournament, hosted by the Lake Norman Little League, kicks off this Saturday during the grand opening of the Westmoreland Athletic Complex. Theirs will be the inaugural tournament at the new complex, off Westmoreland Road in Cornelius.
The week-long tournament includes teams from Lake Norman, Myers Park, Wddington, Kannapolis, Coul Oak and Steel Creek, and runs July 7 – 13.
The winner of the tournament will advance to the Little League State Tournament.
