Anthony Famiglietti, a Davidson-based runner and two-time U.S. Olympian, cruised to victory in the 1st Summit Solstice Race, a 4-mile run on Davidson streets and the Davidson College cross country course. Famiglietti ran 20:43 over the hilly course, more than two-minutes ahead of Vincent Weir, a Davidson College runner, who clocked 22:59. Patrick Sheehan was third in 24:51.
Sarah Cline, 23, won the women’s race in 29:21, followed by Kathleen Elkins, 19, (29:27) and Sabrina Heck, 17, (29:43).
A total of 181 runners competed.
