Frosh Laura Murray had her second straight 20-point effort and Davidson College’s women’s basketball team grabbed its fifth victory in its last six games on Saturday, besting Western Carolina, 65-56, at at Belk Arena.
Murray had 23 points for the Wildcats, hitting six of seven field goals (including 2 three-pointers) and all nine of her foul shots. Katrin Chiemeka had 10 points and Sophia Aleksandravicius added 9 points and 14 rebounds.

Murray had 27 points in Davidson’s loss to Appalachian State on Wednesday.
The win lifted the Wildcats to 11-11 overall, and 6-7 in the Southern Conference.
Kaila’Shea Menendez (21 points) and Rena Wakama (14) led Western Carolina, which is now 6-16 overall, 4-9 in the conference.
