Davidson College’s women’s basketball team had a big halftime lead, but couldn’t hold on to it, and fell 83-73 to Appalachian State in Boone Wednesday night.
Laura Murray had 27 points for the Wildcats, who led 45-29 at halftime. Sophia Aleksandravicius had 17 points and 7 rebounds.
The loss ended a four-game winning streak for Davidson, which fell to 10-11 overall, 5-7 in the Southern Conference.
Appalachian State improved to 18-4 and 12-2 in the league. The Mountaineers got 19 points from Anna Freeman, 17 from Sam Ramirez and 16 from Ashlen Dewart, who also had 9 rebounds.
