Stanford defeated California, 2-0, to capture its fourth-straight NorPac championship at the conference tournament Saturday afternoon at Davidson College’s Belk Turf Field. Becky Dru scored two goals for Stanford, and finished as tournament MVP. The victory sends Stanford to an NCAA tournament play-in game Tuesday at UMass, the Atlantic-10 champions.
Meanwhile, Davidson’s season ended with a 2-0 loss to Longwood in the tournament’s third-place game Saturday.
Davidson junior defender Steph Meador and sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Fisher were named to the NorPac All-Tournament team. Becky Dru of Stanford was the tourney’s MVP, finishing with five goals and three assists over three games.
