After an upset win over Charleston Thursday, the Davidson College men’s basketball team is back at home Saturday night, hosting Citadel at 7 p.m. at Belk Arena. (Davidson officials announced at 12:30 that the game and Hall of Fame ceremonies today will go on as scheduled.)
Davidson beat Citadel, 74-63, at Charleston on Dec. 3.
Davidson is now 10-11 overall, 5-4 in the Southern Conference, after beating College of Charleston Thursday night 86-71.
The Citadel is also 10-11 overall this season, and 4-5 in the conference. The Citadel is 2-2 in its last four games. The Bulldogs lost 61-58 at Georgia Southern Thursday.
The Bulldogs are led by preseason All-Conference guard Cameron Wells, who averages 18.3 points per game, 5.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists. Zach Urbanus (10.5 points per game) is another standout, and is one of the top 3-point shooters in the conference. He’s hit 56 so far this year, 42.4 percent of his 3-point shots.
HALL OF FAME DAY
Tonight’s game will be Hall of Fame Day, with honors for and Davidson will honor Athletics Hall of Fame Inductees Brett Boretti ’94, John (Jack) Gray ’49 (posthumous), Steve Smith ‘66 and Dana Casner Sterling ‘99 at halftime.
