That comes on the heels of Mr. Reiter’s selection as 2009 men’s soccer Player of the Year in the Southern Conference. He also was named first-team NSCAA All-South Region.
In November, he received another All-America honor as he was named to the CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America First Team.
Mr. Reiter, from Westport, Conn., is a political science major, with a 3.48 grade point average.
“This award is another wonderful feather in Charlie’s cap,” head coach Matt Spear said in an article on the college’s sports information website, DavidsonWildcats.com. “It means a lot to me too, because it’s awarded through the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. Charlie stepped forward this season with lots of important goals and was a major factor in our successful campaign.”
Mr. Reiter had 32 points last fall, scoring 12 goals and eight assists in 18 games. According to statistics compiled by Davidson College Sports Informaiton, he also was nationally ranked in several offensive categories, including sixth in points per game (1.78), eighth in goals per game (0.67) and 29th in assists per game (0.44).
