There is no rule of thumb for what constitutes too much glass in a home. However, I have frequently observed many homes that contain too many glass and reflective surfaces. When I say “reflective surfaces,” I am referring to glass in windows, glass used as table tops and other shiny surfaces such as glossy bare wood floors. It particularly becomes evident when a room has multiple windows. So often I hear someone say that a piece of furniture is an antique, which means the piece needs to be over 100 years old. Less than 100 years and it is considered an old piece.
But is it really an antique or a reproduction of an antique?
An antiques expert shared some insight. He said that most of the time it is a reproduction that could be either beautifully made or poorly made. Generally, original surviving antiques, if in perfect condition, are in museums or private collections.

Bathroom before
Remodeling a bathroom in an older home provides excellent opportunities for introducing green design, while also indulging the senses.
This dated bathroom not needed updating, it needed to be totally redesigned. The toilet placed at an angle in the corner lacked any privacy. Just to the left of the toilet was the shower door for the cramped 2 foot by 3 foot shower.
This bathroom also lacked a tub, though it did have a fair-sized closet within the space.
