April home sales grew 34.5 percent throughout the Charlotte region, compared to April 2012. Preliminary monthly data from the Carolina Multiple Listing Services Inc. showed 2,915 sales last month, up from 2,168 for the same period last year. Home sales across the Charlotte region were up more than 40 percent in January, according to data from the Carolina Multiple Listing Services Inc. (MLS). Prices continued to rise while the number of homes fell during the month.
The January report came from the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association, based on MLS data. A total of 2,163 closings were report in January, up 40.4 percent compared to January 2012, when there were 1,541. Read the full story

Home sales in the Charlotte region were “robust” in November, rising 35 percent from a year ago even as the real estate market enters the traditional slow season, according to Charlotte Regional Realtor Association. Selling prices also are rising, according to data from Carolina Multiple Listing Services Inc. (CMLS).
“We’re actually in the historically weakest part of the selling season, but home prices are continuing to rise, largely due to decrease supply and solid demand. This is good for sellers,” Association/CarolinaMLS President Jennifer Frontera said in a press release. Read the full story
