Local real estate industry employees will help repair a home on Westside Terrace in Davidson and several residences at Barium Springs Home for Children on Friday, April 19, as part of the annual Realtors Care Day, organized by Charlotte Regional Realtor Association’s Housing Opportunity Foundation. For the fifth year, volunteers will be helping homeowners with exterior home repairs, and adaptive and safety modifications for the elderly or disabled, and other projects. Read the full story

The 29th annual Davidson Horticultural Symposium is scheduled Tuesday, March 5, at Davidson College, this year on the theme “Beyond the Garden Gate: Exploring Creative Spaces.”

Davidson Design Review Board will meet Wednesday, Aug. 15, with an agenda that includes a review of material samples for Mooney’s Corner building, at 212 S. Main St., and presentations about two proposed projects: an expansion to Davidson College Athletic Center, and an expansion at Hoke Lumber on Jetton Street. The Davidson Planning Department will host a public workshop Wednesday night to begin discussing a new small area plan for the area off I-77 Exit 30, which town officials have dubbed “Circles at 30. The meeting is Wednesday, June 13, at 7 p.m., in the Town Hall Board Room, 216 S. Main St. It begins with a presentation, then breaks up into groups to review and discuss area maps.
