The sight of a sexy model in an ad for jeans or perfume or even appliances hardly raises an eyebrow these days. But a small Charlotte-area real estate firm is raising eyebrows a-plenty with its effort to sell luxurious mansions with sexy ads. Some say it’s tasteless. The young Realtors behind the plan say it’s working.

Construction spending rose 1.4 percent during March as the nation’s builders started work on more commercial construction projects, from office buildings to factories to homes. Neighbors caring for neighbors to let seniors age in place

Some retirement communities are planned, others just happen. The latter are sometimes referred to by urban planners as NORCs – “naturally occurring retirement communities.” They’ve emerged as an attractive way for seniors to age successfully in their homes by tapping into community support services and volunteer programs.
The AARP estimates that there are thousands of these naturally occurring retirement communities across the United States, and that approximately 27 percent of our senior citizens live in them. So what are NORCs? Read the full story

Residential real estate closings in March in the Charlotte region were about even with a year ago, but up 43 percent compared with February, Charlotte Regional Realtor Association said Monday. Meanwhile, sales prices remained below a year ago, but up from February.
