Wallpaper with an updated color palette would easily work in a foyer, bathroom or living space that has furnishings in solid colors.
For some time, wallpaper on walls has been out of vogue in favor of paint. Trends are changing so that you should see wallpapers with more patterns, more styles and more color combinations available.
Wallpaper can be a major method of adding pattern to a room, especially a room that does not have much artwork. Additionally, it works well if your fabrics are solid colors and your rugs or carpets have minimal pattern in them. If you have an Oriental rug with an intricate pattern, adding wallpaper probably will not be a good solution. Read the full story

Homes sales grew 21.8 percent in February, the Charlotte Regional Realtor Association reported, based on Carolina Multiple Listing Services Inc. (CMLS) data. MOORESVILLE - Our Towns Habitat for Humanity’s Mooresville ReStore will host the second annual ReStore Restyle design challenge on Tuesday, May 1, and is looking for area designers to participate. ReStore ReStyle is talent showcase for designers, a feature event for the Mooresville ReStore and a fundraiser for Our Towns Habitat for Humanity.

A Washington State developer is moving ahead with plans for a four-story, 120-unit retirement housing complex off I-77 Exit 30. Representatives of Hawthorn Retirement Group of Vancouver, Wash., were at a joint meeting of the Davidson Town and Planning boards Monday night, where they heard a variety of concerns, about everything from parking to possible tree removal to the amount of public open space.
Hawthorn has been discussing changes in the project with Davidson planners for a year, since a public planning workshop in January 2011. Monday’s meeting was the first of several additional public sessions required before the project can be built. Read the full story
