The North Carolina House of Representatives Select Committee on Homeowners’ Associations plans a hearing Monday, Jan. 23, to hear the concerns of homeowners unhappy about the way their homeowners associations operate, make decisions and handle funds. It's worth taking to consider how to hang a grouping of pictures.
Almost every room or space in a home as well as office has some art hanging on the wall, whether it is a decorative picture or a business awards. But often hanging art is at the wrong viewing height, too small or big for the wall, or poorly laid out in groups.
Since I have done many art installations, I wanted to share some tips for hanging just one picture or a grouping of pictures.

John Marshall Custom Homes is building 518 Walnut St. according to specifications of the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED for Homes program
John Marshall Custom Homes Inc. of Davidson will host an open house Saturday, Jan. 21, from 10 a.m. to noon at a “green” home under construction at 518 Walnut St. It will be the third local that John Marshall Custom Homes Inc. has built to the certification standards of the LEED for Homes program which is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council. Davidson College on Wednesday will show the Design Review Board plans for exterior changes on the BB&T building.
When Davidson’s Design Review Board meets Wednesday, members will review proposed exterior alterations at the Community School of Davidson High School on Armour Street. The board also will get a look at planned changes to the BB&T building on North Main Street, which Davidson College is renovating as its student bookstore. Read the full story

Home sales data for 2011 across the region (SOURCE: Carolina Multiple Listing Services)
The year-end report is based on Carolina Multiple Listing Services Inc. (CMLS) data. According to that data, there were 22,942 closed sales in 2011 for the entire CMLS service area, up 2.5 percent from 2010. The value of all the sales totaled $4.6 billion. Read the full story
