Because of the Memorial Day holiday and a small agenda, the Town of Davidson has canceled the May 2010 Planning Board meeting, which had been scheduled May 24. The next meeting will be June 28 at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Members sought for committee to protect lake wildlife

Business leaders, gardeners, anglers and nature-lovers from eight communities surrounding Lake Norman are being invited to join a committee that will work to have the lake designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat under National Wildlife Federation guidelines.

Market Properties merges with Lake Norman Realty

Market Properties of Davidson has merged with Lake Norman Realty, adding a Davidson location to its existing offices covering the Lake Norman region. The deal means Lake Norman Realty will take over Market Properties’ 310 S. Main St. offices.
Former Market Properties broker/owner Celeste Colcord joins Lake Norman Realty as broker-in-charge at the Davidson location. The company also has office in Cornelius, Mooresville, Denver and Statesville.

Developer Meeting Street Interests is proposing to construct a 2-story Walgreens pharmacy and office building at the Griffith Street/Jetton Street roundabout, in the Exit 30 area.
The Davidson Planning Board on was scheduled to hear a presentation about the proposal Tuesday night from the town planning staff. Planning Director Kris Krider and Town Planner Parviz Moosavi were to update the board on the proposed site plan, which has been part of the master plan for the site. The architect for the proposal is Jared Ducote.

Planning, town boards to discuss Mayes Rd. project

Davidson’s Town Board and Planning Board will hold a joint session during the Town Board work session Tuesday, April 27, to discuss a zoning change request for Woodlands Discovery, a nature-focused pre-school proposed in a former home on about 10 acres at 13101 Mayes Road in east Davidson.
