The Children’s House LLC, a Montessori preschool currently in Davidson, is seeking a rezoning to move its operations into a house on North Main Street, near the Davidson line.

The school, run by Debbie Richardson, has applied to rezone the 1.4-acre property at 21001 N. Main St. from Neighborhood Residential to Neighborhood Mixed Use. The house is just south of the railroad overpass, at North Main and Davidson streets. Read the full story

As part of a community-based learning project, Davidson College entomology professor Chris Paradise and his students are collaborating with the Town of Davidson, the college, and Davidson Lands Conservancy to assess cankerworm population dynamics and effectiveness of tree-banding. Back in the days when my family was young, we made such wonderful memories of going on lake vacations and boating adventures in Tennessee. I greatly enjoyed those vacations, as it was always my dream to live on a lake someday.

For many years, we vacationed with extended family members who had young children. I still chuckle when my mind wanders to my favorite young nephew, “Matt Man.” Matt was a three-year-old with an angelic face and large brown eyes, who was blessed with a remarkable natural sense of humor.
