Blue Stream Partners LLC has requested a rezoning of the 64-acre parcel from “Rural Preservation” to “General Residential,” and approval of a “major subdivision” for the proposed Barnhardt Subdivision.

The board will take up the plan again at its Sept. 4 meeting, according to Cornelius planning officials.

Cornelius is currently in the midst of updating its Land Use Plan, which is scheduled to be discussed in August and September. “Through these discussions, the Planning Board anticipates gaining a better understanding on rural land use. During the August and September meetings, the Board hopes to discuss how the Town may wish to define and regulate rural land use in the future,” said Planning Director Wayne Herron.

“Using this information may allow the Planning Board to make a recommendation on the Barnhardt Subdivision, which would result in being more in keeping with the land use for the entire area, rather than just the Barnhardt parcel,” he said in an email.

Also on Monday, the Planning Board unanimously re-elected Brian Simmons as chair and Hardy McConnell as vice chair for another year.

These help because you no longer have to worry about figuring the correct angle and the measurement off the wall when ordering window hardware.

Previously limited to indoors, window hardware is now available for outdoors. Outdoor/indoor options can be found in Brimar’s collection of stainless hardware. They are designed to withstand natural weather elements, salty ocean air and high moisture exteriors and interiors without rusting. Their rods also come in bay window and bow options. In an outdoor setting, you should always use outdoor window fabrics and trims.
