Mark your calendars for an evening of fun for a great cause. The Lake Norman Comedy Zone in Cornelius, N.C. will donate one hundred percent of the proceeds from its February 7th show to Bit O’Luck Horse Rescue. 

 B.T. will be the featured comedian for the evening. He has performed at the HBO U.S. Comedy Arts Festival has performed on NBC’s “Friday Night Videos.” He has also appeared on BET Comic View, MTV’s The Jenny McCarthy Show, and FOX’s The Keenan Ivory Wayans Show.

Cat lovers unite! This weekend the Dixieland Silver and Golden Fanciers cat show will take place at the Cabarrus Arena and Event Center in Concord, N.C.

Pedigreed cat representing over 40 breeds from all over the world will be competing for top prizes. In addition, many great vendors with cool cat toys, clothing, cat furniture and more will be on hand. Adoptable kittens and retired show cats will be available and  local rescue organizations will be on hand. There will also be a silent auction and raffle. Celebrate Halloween with a Hoot and a Howl at Carolina Raptor Center on Saturday, October 29.

Hoot and Howl o’ Ween will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.at the Carolina Raptor Center inside Latta Plantation Nature Preserve located at 6000 Sample Road in Huntersville.

In addition to a 1 p.m. costume contest, activities will include face painting, slime making, spider bingo, cookie decorating, tye-dyeing, and more. Activities are free (with the exception of tie dying $5) with paid admission to the center. In addition, Crazy Dogz will be selling hot dog plates for $5. Proceeds will benefit Carolina Raptor Center.

Don’t forget that the 2nd Annual Currents Commodore Cover Dog Contest will kick off at 3:00 pm this Saturday, with on-site registration, vendor displays, entertainment, a silent auction and activities for the entire family. HUNTERSVILLE - Carolina Raptor Center will release an American bald eagle at Latta Plantation Nature Preserve on Monday, July 4.

Staff, volunteers and friends will gather at 11 a.m. at the nature preserve, at the end of Sample Road in Huntersville, for the release of a juvenile American bald eagle, rehabilitated in the Raptor Center’s hospital. Read the full story
