Howard was adopted from the Helping Paws Dog Show in 2009
The Helping Paws Dog Show will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010 from 2-5 p.m. at the Village Green in Davidson, NC.
During the event, an untraditional dog show will be held with competitions for Best Trick, Best Groomed, Best Personality and Best in Show. In addition, Project Halo will have dogs available for adoption.
The Helping Paws Dog Show is the brain child of 13-year-old Brooke Phillips, whose family adopted Roxie from Project Halo on Brooke’s 10th birthday. A Woodlawn School 8th grader, Brooke was inspired to hold the dog show by her own experience adopting Roxie, plus the animal advocacy work she had done at Woodlawn School as part of her grade’s service learning project. Funds raised from the event will benefit Project Halo, a no-kill shelter offering the public an opportunity to adopt dogs.
Off Leash Dog Trainers will do an obedience demonstration and Pawsitive Behavior Solutions will provide information on the TTouch training methods and give people the opportunity to try the body work with their own dogs. Additionally, dog washes will be available for $5 a pooch.
Confirmed sponsors include: Project Halo, The Town of Davidson, NC, PetSmart, Anchor Security & Locksmith, Summit Coffee, Total Bond Veterinary Hospital in Davidson, Woodlawn School, the Davidson Public Library, Lake Norman Pet Grooming, Village Paws & Claws, Northlake Reality, Pawsitive Behavior Solutions, Davidson Pet Sitter and Luv My Pets Mobile Grooming .
