There is exciting news at the Carolina Raptor Center! Savannah, one of the resident American Bald Eagles at the center, has laid the first egg of the 2012 nesting season. The event occurred Wednesday at 4:07 p.m. She and mate, Derek, now take turns caring for the egg.
You can watch the live Eagle Cam on www.wcnc.com.
Savannah is well versed in social media and you can follow her on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/SavannahEagle and on Twitter @Savannah_Eagle.
With the laying of Derek and Savannah’s first egg, CRC will be premiering its new Eagle Research Observatory Tours this weekend.
