The Cornelius Animal Shelter has pets available for adoption. For more information about these or other adoptable pets, please contact the Cornelius Police Department. The shelter is open Tuesday-Friday 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. It is also open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Read on for more about this week’s pets.

Rupert is a brown and white Jack Russell mix who was recently surrendered to the shelter because he does not get along well with cats or children. He is very friendly and loving with adults and has a mellow personality. He would make a great companion for someone single or for a family with all adults. He is also very cute, but a little camera shy. Please stop by the shelter to meet him.

If you are looking for a kitten, please visit the Cornelius Animal Shelter. We have an abundance of them at the moment; male or female, short, medium or long hair, black and white, tabbies, tortoiseshell, black, grey and white, and orange.  They range in age from 6 – 12 weeks, but most are in the 10 week range.  They are all friendly, playful and healthy. Maybe you would consider giving one or two of these adorable kittens the loving home they deserve.
