The Cornelius Animal Shelter has pets available for adoption. For more information about these or other adoptable pets, please contact the Cornelius Police Department. The shelter is open Tuesday-Friday 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. It is also open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Read on for more about this week’s pets.
Gracie is an adorable black Shih Tzu who was picked up as a stray in Cornelius this past week. She looks like she has been well cared for, but her owner has not come forward to claim her. She gets along well with other dogs and is up to date on her shots. She would be a good choice for someone looking for a lap dog and companion. We think she is about two years old. Please stop by the shelter to meet her.
Buffy/AKA Jessie is beautiful buff colored tabby who was picked up as a stray about six weeks ago. He was wearing a little red bandana around his neck and was very thin. He probably ran away some time ago, and so far no one has come forward to claim him. He seems to crave affection and the volunteers would love to find him a new loving home. If he belongs to you please stop by the shelter to pick him up ASAP. He is currently available for adoption and up to date on all his shots.
The Cornelius Animal Shelter has a new website. General information about the facility as well as a list of available animals can be found at http://www.corneliusanimalsshelter.org. CAS is looking for volunteers. Information on how to get started volunteering is also available at the site.
