Animals available for adoption
The Cornelius Animal Shelter has pets available for adoption. For more information about these or other adoptable pets, please contact the Cornelius Police Department. The shelter is open Tuesday-Friday 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. It is also open on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Read on for more about this week’s pets.
Chance is 21-month-old boxer/lab mix who was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer take care of him. He is friendly and knows a few basic commands. He has been neutered, is fully house trained and up to date on all his shots. He does need exercise since he is quite young. If you want a nice walking or jogging buddy, Chance would be a good choice. Please stop by the shelter to meet him.
Ricky is a four-month-old black and white kitten. He was brought in to the shelter along with his brother Siren. He has a cute black mustache and a black mask like a raccoon. He is very playful and energetic but also likes to be held. Siren has been adopted, but Ricky is still waiting to find a loving home. Please stop by and meet him.
In addition to the animals featured above, the shelter also has several beautiful black cats that have been at the shelter for quite some time that are in need of homes. They range in ages from six months to one year and desperately need to find their forever homes. If you have room in your heart and home for a beautiful, black cat, please stop by the shelter.
The Cornelius Animal Shelter has a new website. General information about the facility as well as a list of available animals can be found at www.corneliusanimalshelter.org. CAS is looking for volunteers. Information on how to get started volunteering is also available at the site.
