Firefighters have recovered the body of a man who apparently drowned Sunday night while boating off the Belle Isle Drive area on Lake Norman in Cornelius. The Charlotte man disappeared around 7:15pm. See the full story on CorneliusNews.net.

Update 9:54pm - Fire and rescue units on Sunday night were looking for a man missing in Lake Norman off Belle Isle Drive in the Peninsula area of Cornelius. Crews suspended their search just before 10pm, with plans to resume at 7am Monday. See more on CorneliusNews.net

After hearing of Artisan Custom Homes' possible legal challenge of the town's affordable housing ordinance, a group of citizens urges the Town Board to hold on to the program. "Any responsible developer or builder who chooses to build in Davidson must embrace and abide by our values. They don’t have to live here. But what they do here must follow our long-established requirements," they say.

Davidson Police responded to a resident’s report of harassing phone calls and texts from a former boyfriend, and officers received reports of several larcenies in the area. At their meeting Tuesday, Sept. 9, Davidson commissioners will hear presentations about the town’s affordable housing policy and proposed changes to the town planning ordinance, and they’re also scheduled to vote whether to raise the pay of 24-year Town Manager Leamon Brice.
