Captain, William Harvey Durbin, 70, of Mt. Ulla, NC, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at his residence.

He was born on May 16, 1943 in Louisville, KY, to the late William Harold and Emma Louise Eggleton Durbin. He was a retired pilot for Piedmont & US Airways after 36 years of service. Mr. Durbin was a member of the Piedmont Silver Eagles and of the Airline Pilots Association. Read the full story

Harry E. Powers, 80, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 21, 1932 in Mooresville, to the late Lonnie and Clara Gregory Powers. He was a veteran serving in the US Army and retired from Burlington Industries after 47 years of service. Mr. Powers was a member of the Mooresville Masonic Lodge #496 and Mooresville Moose Lodge #2012. He was also a member of Prospect Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. Randle Bowles, 82, of E. Waterlynn Rd., Mooresville, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte, from injuries in a May 14 automobile accident.  Born December 8, 1930, in Taylorsville, NC, he was a son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Mary Addie Wike Bowles.  Mr. Bowles was a retired machinist. Fred Eugene Brown, 82, of Mooresville, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at his residence. He was born on May 4, 1931 in Iredell County, to the late Robert and Beulah Lipe Brown.

Mr. Brown was a veteran serving in the US Air Force and retired from Service Auto Supply, Inc. He was a member of The Bridge Church in Mooresville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bostian Brown; and a brother, Homer Brown.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Foskey and husband, Mickey; sisters, Dorcas Brotherton, Rachel Chatham; brother, Robert Brown, Jr.; and grandchildren, Christy Foskey, Ashley Foskey, and Seneca Foskey.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, May 23 at The Bridge Church with Rev. Tom McCrea officiating. Burial will follow the service with full military honors at Glenwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Bridge Church, 2940 Charlotte Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28117.
