Mrs. Ona Johnston Holbrook, 87, of Huntersville, NC died Sunday July 22, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville. Born September 17, 1924 in Huntersville she was a daughter of the late Lloyd Wilson Johnston and Bessie Head Johnston. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Huntersville, formerly employed as a film editor for MGM and Paramount Pictures and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday July 25 at the First Baptist Church of Huntersville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Read the full story

Willis Deal
Mr. Willis Earl Deal, 77, of Huntersville, NC died Friday, July 20, 2012 at his residence. Born August 21, 1935 in Craven County NC he was a son of the late James and Mildred Rowes Deal. He was employed with numerous trucking companies as a truck driver, most recently, Akers and Yellow Freight when he retired. He loved working in his yard and garden and was an avid card player, especially poker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday July 23 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Read the full story

John Maston
John Gale Maston, 60 of Huntersville, NC passed away on the morning of Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Presbyterian Hospital of Huntersville. John was born June 14, 1952 in Wood County, West Virginia to Howard and Helen Maston. He served our country for twelve years as a military policeman. John was a member of the National Veteran’s Organization of America, Inc. and a member of DAV, American Legion, VFW and AARP. Read the full story

Robert Mills
Robert Hebron Mills, 91, of Mooresville, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
Mr. Mills was born on March 23, 1920 in Iredell County, to the late William Pinkney and Emma Blanche Sloop Mills. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Navy, a member of the Mt. Mourne Volunteer Fire Department and Davidson United Methodist Church, and a retired Police Chief from the Davidson Police Department after 23 years of service. For 60 years Mr. Mills served as a member of the American Legion Post in Cornelius, Williams Masonic Lodge #136 AF & AM, and Scottish Rite-Valley of Charlotte for 50 years. As a member of Oasis Shrine, Order of Eastern Star Long Creek Chapter #151, Mt. Mourne Lions Club, he received the Jack Stickley Award. Read the full story
