Austin Alexander Baeza, 20, of Mooresville, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012. He was loved and adored by all of his family and friends. His smile and enthusiasm for life will live on with us all. He said, “My college years couldn’t be better.” He lived a short life but he lived it to the fullest.
He was born on February 10, 1992 in Silver Spring, Md., to Alexander and Nicolette Bromwell Baeza. He was a 2010 graduate of Lake Norman High School, where he played football. He attended West Virginia University for the past 2 years, where he was a member of the TKE Fraternity. He worked at Shoals Grill and was a lifeguard at the Waterlynn Community.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard L. Bromwell.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Nicolas Baeza; sister, Alexa Baeza; maternal grandmother, Carol Weber; paternal grandparents, Guillermo and Maria Baeza; aunt and uncle, Jennifer and Michael Lofgren; and godparents, Will and Roxann Baeza.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 23 at St. Therese Catholic Church, Mooresville, with Rev. Francis Reese, S.J. officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
