Marjorie Beaumont Smith, 75, of Cornelius, died Feb. 1, 2012 at her residence. She was born April 1, 1936, in Heckmondwike, England to the late Harold and Gertrude Beaumont. She worked for 23 years at the needlecraft center in Davidson.

She is survived by her husband, Alwyn Smith, of Cornelius. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bill Cain officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
