Iona Bass Perry, 85, of Huntersville, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 14, 2012, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Sampson County on Jan. 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Reddin B. and Lillie Averitt Bass who moved their large family to Durham, when she was very young. That is where she lived, married James Faison Perry and had five children. Mr. and Mrs. Perry moved to Charlotte in 1969. Continue Reading

Sarah Frances Christenbury Hailey, 70, of Huntersville, died Feb. 14, 2012, at the Huntersville Oaks. She was born on Aug. 29, 1941 in Mecklenburg County to the late Edward and Sarah Auten Christenbury. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Hailey’s Office Machines. Frances was a charter member of the North End Extension Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Jack Robert Hailey of Huntersville; son, Harold Hailey and wife Janet of Troutman; daughter Ginger Everhart and husband Jeff of Lexington; grandchildren, Edward , Julie and Molly. Continue Reading

Robert James “Bud” Schriver, 78, of Mooresville, died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at the Levine Dickson Hospice House. He was born on April 13, 1933 in Pittsburgh, to the late Orville and Ruth Schriver.
Bud served in the US Army, during the Korean War era. He retired from AT&T and then went on to work for the Bellco Federal Credit Union. In his later years he worked part-time at Target in Mooresville and worked as a handyman for “Two Old Guys.”

Robert “Bob” Martin Jarrett, 91, beloved husband of Cecilia “Cel” Virginia (nee Witton), passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at the Asbury Care Center of Aldersgate, where the couple has resided since 2003.
Born Aug. 25, 1920 to the late Reverend Charles N. Jarrett and Edna G. (nee Scott), Bob was the “hands of Christ” to many who knew him at Myers Park United Methodist Church, and previously Davidson United Methodist Church, where he served as a Stephen Minister. Over the years, as the family moved with his career, Bob volunteered on various boards, ministries, and church committees, was a dedicated Sunday school teacher, and a constant and confident student of the Bible. He especially enjoyed his Fellowship Class at MPUMC, and his friends there. Continue Reading
