The first boy to announce in January iis already in his bib overalls – Jackson Storm Manfredi.  Also in the announcements for the first quarter of 2008 is a trio of girls: Juliette Dupree Bryant, Jill Addison Lobpries and Jane Elizabeth Beach-Verhey.

Have you noticed the blue ribbons decorating Dr. Dick Hay’s Total Bond Veterinary Clinic on Griffith Street? Dick’s vet technician, Shelly Manfredi, and her husband, Jack, of Lincolnton, are the proud parents of a new baby boy. Shelly, known to anyone who has brought a small animal to the vet clinic, welcomed Jackson Storm Manfredi on January 2, 2008. You can see in the photo that he is already trying to match his father’s fashion sense.  Baby Jackson weighed 9 lbs. 12 oz. and stretched to 21 1/2 inches. On hand to help with the new arrival were maternal grandparents, Nancy and Lester Studnicka, who live in Wisconsin. Paternal grandparents are Grace Manfredi of Georgia and Donald Manfredi of Florida. Mom Shelly plans to return to assist Dick Hay when Jackson is a little older. Dad Jack is a finish production coordinator at Buckeye Gaston. Congratulations to Shelly and Jack and all their family members.

Congratulations to Chris and Joy Bryant who welcomed their third daughter, Juliette Dupree Bryant, on Dec. 21, 2007. Juliette weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz., and was 18 inches long. Her big sisters, Camille (7) and Elise (4), were delighted to welcome the new baby home. Dad Chris is in sales for Pilkington and mom Joy is a photographer (and yes, that’s her photo of Juliette with her sisters and family pet) specializing in outdoor events. Proud grandparents are Joy’s mom, Sue Boone of Spartanburg, S.C., and dad, Ike Dupree, of St. Louis, Missouri.

Big sisters Kate and Rory Lobpries are proud to announce the arrival of their new baby sister, Jill Addison Lobpries. Jill (photographed at right with her two sisters) was born Dec. 19, 2007, at 4:14 p.m., weighing 7 lbs. 9 oz. and stretching to 21 inches. Parents are Lawrence and Michelle Lobpries of Davidson. Proud grandparents are George and Vicki Ogle of Fort Worth, and Mike and Fran Lobpries of Dallas, Texas.

Congratulations to Tim and Kathy Beach-Verhey who welcomed Jane Elizabeth Beach-Verhey on Nov. 17, 2007. Baby Janie, who weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz., is a delight to her big brother, Ryan, and big sister, Caroline. Janie and her siblings (see photo at left) have enjoyed recent visits from paternal and maternal grandparents and her Uncle Mike. The whole Beach-Verhey family enjoyed a New Year’s celebration in Durham with the Verhey family, including Janie’s first visit with her cousin, Meghan Davis, who was born exactly one week after her arrival.
