Cool Breeze Cyclery named Small Business of the Year - Thu, 24 May 2012
The Lake Norman Chamber of Commerce on Thursday named Cool Breeze Cyclery in Mooresville Small Business of the Year. In addition to selling and repairing “all things bicycle,” the business offers a coaching center for cyclists of all ages and abilities. Savvy Salon and Day Spa in Cornelius was runner up for the award, and Uncommon Scents in Huntersville and The Welcome Committee in Mooresville received honorable mentions.

Community School hosts Holocaust Museum; 150 attend teacher memorial - Thu, 24 May 2012
Community School of Davidson sixth-graders hosted the school’s fifth annual Holocaust Memorial Museum Wednesday evening, transforming the halls into an interactive history lesson. Meanwhile, about 150 people gathered Sunday at W.A Hough High School to remember Bailey Middle School science teacher Mark DeSarro, who died earlier this year. Also, Davidson Elementary plans Field Days, Bailey Middle School plans its annual Beach Bash, Lake Norman Charter students celebrate the arts, and two local students win National Merit Scholarships. Driver surprised to learn she backed into school employee - Thu, 24 May 2012
A Charlotte woman was surprised to learn last week that she had backed into a Davidson Elementary School employee after dropping children off at the school. Police investigated after a complaint from the school. Police also are investigating two auto break-ins where thieves stole owner’s manuals and loose change.
