Mayor Jill Swain and Huntersville Police Chief Phil Potter will join the event, which is part of AT&T’s “It Can Wait” program. The program has attracted pledges from more than 1.5 million people across the country to not text and drive. 

Texting while driving has been found to make drivers 23 times more likely to be involved an accident than non-texting drivers.

The event includes a presentation 10:30am. The simulator will be open from 10am to 2pm. The AT&T store is a at 9932 Knockando Lane, Huntersville.
