Former Davidson Town Commissioner Margo Williams and Leslie Willis, Healthy Living and Wellness Supervisor for the Town of Davidson, will lecture on “Journey to Health in a Small Town” Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 1pm in the Davidson Town Hall boardroom, as part of the Davidson Senior Scholars series.

“We are on a journey to health for the entire town through planning, design, and programs, from community policing to public works and parks and recreation,” organizers said in a press release. Williams and Willis will discuss how the town developed the policies, values, and principles in its current wellness efforts.

The meeting is in Town Hall, 216 S. Main St., Davidson.

Williams has been a Davidson resident for 20 years. She is a graduate of the University of Texas where she earned degrees in English and Spanish. She is a widely published essayist, with a passion for words and a deep understanding of people, politics, and life. Mrs. Williams has co-authored three books and is a freelance editor and writing consultant for her business, A Way With Words, as well as, a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum.

Leslie Willis has degrees in Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology. Since arriving in Davidson, she has obtained her master composting certification and actively works in the Parks and Recreation department on programming utilizing the existing infrastructure and businesses.
