The Town of Davidson will host the XTERRA North Carolina 5 & 10 mile trail running races Sunday, Sept. 5, at 8:30 a.m., at Fisher Farm Park, off Shearers Road. It’s the first event of its kind here and is part of a series of trail runs around the southeast this summer and fall.

Davidson Lands Conservancy will host its annual road race, the Run for Green, on Saturday, Sept. 18, featuring 5K, 10K and half-marathon races. The routes will all begin at the Davidson Village Green, and travel partly along the town’s public greenways.

Start of the 2009 Town Day 5K on South Street
Local runners will have two 5K/fun-run events to participate in here in Davidson over the next few weeks: the “Fire” 5K on April 17 to benefit Ada Jenkins Center and the Davidson-Cornelius Day Care 5K/fun run on Town Day, May 1. Read the full story
