The Davidson Housing Coalition’s annual Festival for Hope & Housing, including 50k and 100k bicycle rides, is scheduled Saturday, Sept. 10, in downtown Davidson.

The festival and bike rides are a fundraiser for the Davidson Housing Coalition, which preserves and creates affordable housing and provides homeowner education and job search and training services.

Orgqnizers say the rides are the final training opportunity for Bike MS: Breakaway to the Beach.

All rides start at Davidson United Methodist Church, 233 S. Main St., Davidson. Both the 50K and 100K routes end at the Davidson Village Green, Concord Road and Main Street, in front of the Davidson library branch.

The 50K and 100K cycling routes wind through the beautiful back roads of Cabarrus, Iredell, Mecklenburg, and Rowan counties. All routes will have rest stops and safety and repair vehicles. Registration is $30 for 50K and 100K participants. All cyclists will receive 4 tickets to purchase food from participating restaurants that will be on the green. The first 150 to pre-register get  T-shirts and water bottles.

After the rides, the festival will include booths on the Village Green, food from area restaurants, live music with Sands of Tyme and Rusty Knox, and inflatables for kids. Participating restaurants include Campania, Davidson Chocolate Co., Flatiron Kitchen + Taphouse, Sabi, Restaurant X, and Toast.

Here’s the day’s schedule:

• 7:30 a.m. – Registration for all athletic events begins
• 8:30 a.m. – 100K departs
• 9 a.m. –  50K departs
• 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Festival on the Green
