Carolinas HealthCare System Behavioral Health-Davidson has received its largest gift ever, a $3 million donation from Charlotte’s Levine family to help pay for future growth, programming, training and research. CHS said it will re-christen the hospital as the Mindy Ellen Levine Behavioral Health Center, in honor of the late daughter of Sandra and Leon Levine.

The $36 million hospital opened in April, off NC 73 in east Davidson. The Levine’s gift was announced Tuesday at a CHS board meeting in Charlotte. Read the full story

Carolinas HealthCare System and The Bindu yoga studio in Cornelius will host the 3rd annual Yoga on the Green Saturday Sept. 20. The all-levels yoga class and festival will run from 4 to 8pm on the Village Green in downtown Davidson.

This year’s festival will include music, food trucks and physicians from Carolinas HealthCare System, who will be there to speak and answer health questions. All participants will get a free yoga mat. Read the full story
