Lupus Foundation offers pain management class Oct. 10

CHARLOTTE – The Lupus Foundation of America, North Carolina Chapter (LFANC), will host a Pain Management Workshop Thursday, Oct. 10, at 6pm, at LiveWELL Carolinas!, 6801 Northlake Mall Drive.
The workshop is free and aimed at those living with lupus and their caregivers. Registration is required by Oct. 3. Register online at https://charlottepainmanagement.eventbrite.com/ [1] or by calling 877-849-8271.
“More than 90 percent of people with lupus will experience join and or muscle pain related to their lupus,” said Christine John-Fuller, President and CEO of LFANC. “We encourage people to participate in this educational program that will teach attendees about the medications, therapies and coping strategies to help manage pain. This is just one of the many support services we offer to lupus thrivers in this area.”
About lupus: Lupus is an unpredictable and misunderstood autoimmune disease that ravages different parts of the body. It is difficult to diagnose, hard to live with, and a challenge to treat. Lupus is a cruel mystery because it is hidden from view and undefined, has a range of symptoms, hits out of nowhere, and has no known cause and no known cure. Its health effects can range from a skin rash to a heart attack. Lupus is debilitating and destructive, and can be fatal, yet research on lupus remains underfunded relative to its scope and devastation.
